International Friends

Christ Church Central warmly welcomes international friends who have come to live or study in Sheffield. We are within easy walking distance of the main student areas of the city.

Whether or not you are a Christian, you will enjoy chatting and making new friends over a cup of tea or coffee and a piece of cake on a Sunday afternoon. If you struggle with English, you can probably find someone who speaks the language of your country!

You will find our Sunday meetings easy to follow, with a varied programme of music and short talks, as well as a warm welcome to your children in Club Central, our children's church. You are free to join in, or just observe. You are welcome to chat and ask questions after the service if you find there is anything you do not understand. You can borrow a Bible at church. You will not be expected to give money.

Every Sunday evening, after the 6pm meeting, British and International Friends meet for food, informal discussion and a look at the Bible. Why not join us? Come and ask questions, or come just to listen. We try to finish at 9.30 p.m and can give people lifts home if necessary.

Other events also include a free International Café each Monday evening from 8.00 p.m. which is staffed by people from several Sheffield churches. This meets at Egerton Hall, our church building on Fitzwilliam Street.
