The years from 11 to 18 are really significant in anyone’s life, and especially in terms of Christian faith.
We want to walk through these years with our young people, helping them to trust in Jesus, live for him, and share him with their friends. We try to have fun, but more importantly to be real with our teenagers, connecting the truths of the gospel to the particular struggles they face.
All the youth – ages 11-18 – are encouraged to attend our 4:30 meetings on Sundays. They then meet together afterwards for a meal and discussion of the Bible teaching they’ve just heard in church.
We also have a midweek Discipleship Groups on Wednesday evenings during school term time. This includes some Bible study and prayer, as well as just the chance to hang out and talk about life and faith.
We also give our young people the option of meeting one-to-one with one of the youth team to study the Bible and pray.
We encourage our youth to serve in various aspects of church life – for example by using their musical gifts or by looking after toddlers during church on a Sunday morning.
We also have a youth weekend away each year, which is always a highlight!
All of our youth leaders are required to have the appropriate DBS checks and attend our church’s child protection training.
