Sheffield's universities are at the heart of the city, and for many years students have been a huge part of our church family. Whether you're leaving your home church and are looking for a new family, or are exploring the Christian faith for the first time, we'd love Central to be a place where students can meet, know and love God and his people.

Our student group meets immediately after our 5pm service - and so most of our students are part of the evening congregation - and shares a meal together before studying the Bible and praying together. This is a great chance to explore faith and dig deeper with those who might be going through similar situations, to build lasting friendships with others, and to learn from one another and from leaders with a little more experience of life.

Christ Church Central is not a 'student church,' but we are a church family - we love to see our students getting to know our children, parents and grandparents. Families look out for one another, and we aim to see our students both being blessed by being welcomed into the family, and blessing others by using their time and skills to serve others. Many of our students meet regularly one-to-one with older Christians to read the Bible, pray and share life together, and in doing so have become members of their individual families in addition to the broader church community. Several of our students have stayed in Sheffield after graduation and continue to bless our church family - whether as Ministry Trainees, Gospel Team leaders, musicians, and as faithful family members - and we're hugely grateful to the God for them.

Outside of Sundays, there are plenty of opportunities for our students to continue to grow together. We encourage our students to take a part in the universities' Christian Unions, get involved in societies and club that interest them, and think through how they might serve the Lord in the wider world as well as in a church setting. What's more, we hold an annual day (usually in October/November) and weekend (February) away for our students, which offer great times of teaching, fun and fellowship.

Christ Church Central is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenyoung people and vulnerable adults. Our church expects its members, volunteers and staff to share a commitment to creating an environment where children, young people and the vulnerable feel safe and can thrive.
