Mission Partners

At Christ Church Central we really want to be a church for people who don't go to church, or in Jesus words 'a witness to his death and resurrection to every ethnic group':

“Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations [every ethnic group], beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. (Luke 24:46-48 ESV)

We want to play our part in this Jesus-given mission, and so we do our best to train, send and support a number of mission partners across the world, especially where there is no or little access to the gospel. We are aware of the great blessing God has given us with Bibles, pastor-teachers, a long church history, much Christian literature, not to mention good access to healthcare and education.

And so we want to bless others who don't yet know about the good news of Jesus, and call them to repentance and faith in Him, and to model and teach everything He commanded. Our mission partners do this in a number of different ways, including through direct church planting and evangelism, education and healthcare.

We also support short-term mission partners - most recently this has included a five month gap year in the Gambia, a summer mission in Ethiopia, and a two week beach mission in Greece.

Here's some more information about a couple of our mission partners:

The Moores

The Moores - Papua New Guinea

Dave, Emma and Joshua Moore are working in medicine and education with New Tribes Mission in Papua New Guinea.

The Sandells

The Sandells - Greece

Tim, Nicky, Joshy and Benjy Sandell are supporting and developing student work with IFES and UFM in the Greek cities of Volos and Larissa.

We also support other mission partners in corners of the globe where it’s not safe to put their details online. Please do ask us for more information.

We have a mission support team which meets regularly to consider our place in God's mission to the whole world, review how we can support our mission partners best, identify and train prospective partners or people wanting to do short-term mission. Team members are: Andy (chair), Bill Fearnehough, Louisa King, Karen Gilder and Amber Veldt.

Our mission partners also produce regular prayer updates which we use to pray for them at Sunday services, at Church Family Prayer meetings, in our Gospel Teams, and individually. For more information about our mission partners, or to learn more about world mission in general contact the Mission Support Team by email.
