Giving

As part of our commitment to one another as church family, alongside friendship, prayer and service, we express our motivation in the gospel and our commitment to the church's mission by giving financially. This comes not through guilt or coercion, but out of gratitude for what our God has done for us - "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich." (2 Corinthians 8:9)

As a church, we do rely entirely on the generosity of the church family to fund what we do - paying staff, maintaining buildings, organising events, supporting mission partners around the world, and reaching out with the gospel into our city. The Bible tells us to give out of joyful obedience to God (2 Corinthians 9:7) rather than obligation, and for this reason, as well as part of our mission to be 'a church or people who don't go to church,' we do not pass a collection plate round on Sundays. Many of our members who give chose to do so regularly, either to the church generally or to specific needs.

If you'd like to start giving, you can either do so via the wooden box on the welcome table on a Sunday, or via bank transfer to the following account:

Account name: Christ Church Central

Account number: 24471863

Sort code: 30-99-50

Bank: Lloyds Bank plc
